My realizations

My dear teacher and my dear fellows,

How are you? I hope that great as usual:)

I can say proudly that I finished the book from our individual reading. I am very glad that in the end it happened. I was thinking that I will never finish it)))

Sincerely I liked the book,it's interesting. I like Charles Dickens's style of writing, although there were many new words and was a little bit difficult to read this book.

As well as "A Tale of Two Cities" I noticed that "Great Expectations" reveals problems of common people and the distinction between common people and rich people.

Pip,seeing that Estella as a little child was ignoring him even they were playing wanted to become a gentleman. Estella called Pip " Boy",she was making fun of him, also calling "knaves, jacks" and when Miss Havisham made Pip and Estella play cards, she didn't want to because Pip is "common".

I liked all the changes that happened in Pip's life and around him. I couldn't even imagine that his benefactor would be Magwitch, the convict that scared himvery much in the churchyard when he was a child.
Maybe Magwitch did so,because Pip helped him in a way, stealing from his sister food and a file and probably he also felt a need to be much obliged to Pip for all he had done for Magwitch.

I also discovered that this convict was Estella's father and Molly,a woman who was working at Jaggers's house was Estella's mother. What a surprise!

At the end,I am happy that Estella has changed and she understood that she can be a good person and not so bad how Miss Havisham treated her. And Pip also realized that his behaviour towards Joe was bad. Pip helped much his good friend-Herbet. So,everything is good except that Pip lost many dear people for him, such as his sister, his benefactor and there also died Miss Havisham.

P.S.: I like the couples that remained together,I mean Joe with Biddy,Herbert with Clara and definitely Pip with Estella.

Guys, did you like the book? What moments did impressed you more?
Good luck to you,my dear friends-in the exams and in general and I wish you Happy Christmas!!!

Love,
Alina

                    WE WILL SUCCEED IN EVERYTHING!!!

Just a post:)

My dear teacher and my dear fellows,

How are you? How's life? What news?

I know that some of you finished to read "Great Expectations" by Charles Dickens.

I am also about to finish it and I am very because it is a very long novel and it takes much time to read.
As I had read some passages,I discovered that in Pip's life appeared someone whose name is Magwitch. he was a convict, and namely that convict that threatened Pip in the churchyard when he was a child.

And Pip also heard about Compeyson,he was that man who dared to leave Miss Havisham at the altar.
Pip was helping at that very moment by Wemmick, who hid Magwitch at Clara's house beacuse Compeyson was in town in order to find Magwitch.

By the way,I forgot to say that when I was reading I found out that namely Magwitch was Pip's benefactor but I don't know why he did so.
I think I will learn this and also many other interesting information about the characters, new characters too.

Good luck my dear friends and succeed in everthing that you do and are going to do! Smile more that life is beautiful!

Yours ever,
Alina

My Realizations

Hello dear friends,

How are you? Are you happy that winter came? It's true winter outside,so much snow:)

Let's discuss a little bit on our individual reading. I look froward to finishing this great novel. I am interested in it's end. Will it be a happy end? I hope that it will be so.

So,the previous week I found out more facts about Pip's life and all the things around him :
On his way to home,he met two convicts who accompanied carriage riders and one of them was the very same man who gave him 2 pound note all those years ago at  the Three Jolly  Bargemen. Pip jumped from carriage at the first possible stop. When he got to the Blue Boar, everybody recognized him as an young man whom Pumblechook was responsible for.
All this time Pip was thinking only about Estella,he was excited that he would see her. When he went to Miss Havisham and knocked at her gate that one who appeared was - Orlick, that agresive man who worked in the forge. Pip and Orlick like each other as much as cats like dogs:) because they exchanged only some words.
Finally Pip saw Estella again when he found Miss Havisham who was admiring a lady, namely Estella. She was so beautiful but she told Pip that she didn't have a heart and she couldn't feel anything for anybody. Pip couldn't believe that. And she also told him that he was a silly boy. Miss Havisham commanded to Pip to love Estella. She was like a broken record because she repeated over and over and over again to love her!
Pip loved so much Estella because he really believed that he and Estella were meant to be,he was meant to marry her and he really didn't want to go back to Joe,he considered that he had to stay away from Joe and reject his family, too.

So guys,I can say that Love is really blind because it also happened to Pip. He didn't see anybody except Estella and he was ready to forget about his family and friend because of her. He was like dreaming,he acted like a fool and he didn't believe when she told him that she was heartless because he had hopes and was sure that they will be together. But Estella didn't care indeed, when they went to a walk in the Miss Havisham's garden she told Pip that she couldn't remember any of the stories he told her about their childhood and about the moments spent together.

I will read more and I will found out if Estella will agree to be with Pip...because I can't even guess what she will decide. Good luck girls because I know that only girls read this book:)

Love,
Alina

Monday's expectations

Dear my teacher and dear my fellows,

I am glad that we read such a book,I would like even to watch this movie. If I had had more free time I would have finished this book. But anyway,I hope that I will manage to read it in time.

About my expectations-I think that anyway Pip will meet Estella because as Joe went to London to visit him and told him this means that he has already know about this fact and he will decide to go home.  Sincerely I expect that Pip will do this, will see Biddy, will see his sick sister, maybe she will recover till his arrival at home.

And one more thing,I think that Joe was angry at Pip when he visited him because Pip had changed him very much and in my opinion, not in right direction-he became a gentleman,he had power but he began to forget about his family and his friends. And maybe Pip will realize this fact and will apologize Joe for his behaviour.

I will read this week more and I will discover if I have a good intuition. My dear fellows, what about you? Do you like Pip's changes in his life? I wish you a good time,be more positive and good luck to everyone!!!

Sincerely yours,
Alina

My realizations

Hi my dear friends,

How are you? Today is Monday again. I am so disappointed,I don't manage anything to do.

So,let's return to our book. After I had read some passages from it,I found out that Mr.Pocket was glad to meet Pip but his wife was not so interested. She was not a useful lady. She was proud that her father was a would-be-baron. Instead,Mr.Pocket was a brilliant scholar and he made a living teaching and writing books. There was a "toady" neighbor,Mrs.Coiler who was a snake-like lady and she told Pip about how embarrassed was Mrs.Pocket that her husband liked to teach others.
Pip also met 2 young men with whom he would study at Mr.Pocket's house: Drummle and Startop.
By the way,I think that Mr.Pocket is a good person because he gave Pip money to buy new furniture as Pip wanted to have his own one. Wemmick gave Pip that money and also invited Pipto his place. I remained surprised when I read about Wemmick's house where Pip went to dinner. It was better than Disney world, his house was like a "castle". Mr.Wemmick introduced Pip to his father.
At least,I understood that Pip began to realize that Wemmick is very different-at home he is a kind of person, but at the office he is another one and they had a great time in Wemmick's "castle". When all the men had dinner at Jaggers' they began to quarrel among themselves and there Pip also noticed Molly who was very strange and quiet. She seemed to be afraid of Jaggers, maybe thay beated her because of her hands and arms.
Once,Pip received a letter from Biddy in which she wrote that Joe would visit him soon. When Joe came he used to call Pip "sir". Pip was embarrassed By Joe's manners but Pip wasn't really making Joe feel at home. At least,Joe told Pip his true reason for his visit: Estella wanted to see Pip and suddenly Pip felt much and much better. Joe told Pip that he had changed and only in the forge he felt most at home and most comfortable. Those Joe's words made Pip thinking. He was very sad after Joe left him.

That's all,I am curious what will happen next,I am going to write in my expectations about this.
Have a nice week and good luck! Go on reading my darling friends:)

Love,
Alina
